How to Recover Your Disabled Facebook Account

May 30, 2023

Sometimes you’ll log into Facebook and get a message that your account is disabled. You might wonder what to do? Or is there any way to get it back?

Getting locked out of your Facebook account doesn’t just affect those who use their accounts to talk to friends, but also influencers and business owners that need to use Facebook to promote their online business.

Sometimes, it can be due to you losing your contact information. Other times, someone might have tried to log in to your account, leading to a suspended account as a security measure. One other option is Facebook itself might disable your account due to verification purposes.

Here’s how you can recover it if you’re locked out;

Log In and Pass the Security Checks

First, try to log in to the suspended account. If you do so, you may receive a message saying that you need to pass a security check to verify who you are. Facebook will provide you with several ways for you to verify your account, including entering a security code sent to your phone or email.

Another way is through friend recognition. Click on “Identify photos of friends,” which will show pictures of people you have as friends on Facebook. Identify them correctly, and you should be in.

Of course, it’s possible that you don’t have access to the number you have on your account, or you don’t recognize the people Facebook shows you. Facebook also gives you the option to upload your photo ID.

With this option, you send Facebook a legitimate government ID, be it a driver’s license, passport, birth certificate or other valid form of ID. When sending Facebook your ID, be sure the photo is clear and fully displays all sides of your ID.

This method should be used as a last resort, as it can take a while for this verification to happen, and it is possible that you might be rejected if your ID isn’t clear enough or expired.

In addition, you might need to upload another type of ID, such as a billing statement, employment verification, or bank statement. This form of ID is what’s known as Group 2, and while you have many options to choose from, it can once again be a hassle.

What Happens If I Can’t Pass a Security Check?

With that said, what happens when you cannot pass any security check? What are your options going from there? In this case, you might need to contact Facebook.

Contacting Facebook can be challenging, as Facebook is one of those companies where it feels like no human works there. However, there are several ways for you to contact a person. Facebook does have a form you can use if you feel like your account was disabled by mistake.

With the form, enter all information and explain your situation as best as possible. Review it, and then send it.

You might have to wait several business days for you to get a response, and you might have to enter more information. Unfortunately, Facebook lacks a quick chatbot you can use to recover your account quickly, which can be difficult. And unfortunately, you might run into an employee who is unhelpful, won’t listen to you, or has declared your account unable to be recovered. When this happens, where can you turn to? Luckily, there is a solution.
